Sky Overseas + Offseason Updates: Rundown No. 18

CHICAGO (March 4, 2024) — Eleven Chicago Sky players are currently participating in domestic or overseas play this offseason. Below are the listed players, their respective teams, league and country.

Dana Evans and Beşiktaş advanced to the EuroCup semifinal after defeating BLMA on Feb. 29 in the second of two matchups. Evans led all scorers with 17 points in the 75-72 win. Beşiktaş extended its win streak to four last week.

Evans and Beşiktaş take on Girona in the EuroCup semifinal in two matchups on March 7 and March 14. 

Isabelle Harrison is suiting up for Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball, which began its season last week. She was drafted to Team Hull for Week 1. Harrison holds a career average of 20.8 points across two previous seasons of play with Athletes Unlimited. The league’s Week 2 schedule kicks off on March 7.

Marina Mabrey and Mersin fell to Zaragoza in their second EuroLeague quarterfinal matchup on Feb. 28. She recorded nine points, five rebounds and three assists in the loss. Mersin previously defeated Zaragoza in their first matchup on Feb. 21 behind Mabrey’s game-leading 26 points. 

Mabrey and Mersin play Zaragoza for a third EuroLeague quarterfinal game on March 6 to determine who advances to the semifinal.

Lindsay Allen, Taya Reimer and Botas defeated Tarsus on March 3, winning 80-74. Allen led Botas in scoring with 23 points to go along with five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. She shot 55.6% (10 of 18) from the field in the win.

Reimer recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double in the victory, her seventh double-double of the overseas season. She made 61.5% (8 of 13) of her shots from the floor.

Botas is now 12-13 in the Turkish League and has won five of its last six games. The club is eighth in the standings and is 1.0 games behind seventh-ranked Nesibe.

Michaela Onyenwere helped power Ormanspor to a 78-76 win over Emlak on March 2. She recorded a 20-point, 16-rebound double-double. Her 16 rebounds marked an overseas season high and led all players.

Ormanspor has won seven of its last eight games and 10 of its last 12. With the win, Ormanspor improved to 18-7. The club is in second in the Turkish League, 7.5 games behind top-ranked Fenerbahce.

Sika Koné and Avenida fell to Fenerbahce on Feb. 28 in the second of two EuroLeague quarterfinal games before defeating Jairis in a Spanish League matchup on March 2. In the loss to Fenerbahce, Koné scored 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds while making five of her seven (71.4%) shot attempts. In the following game, she led all players in points (16) and rebounds (nine), again shooting five of seven (71.4%) from the floor.

Koné and Avenida are next scheduled to continue Spanish League play on March 10 against Girona.

Robyn Parks and Schio defeated USK Praha in the second EuroLeague quarterfinal matchup on Feb. 28. Parks scored 11 points while making three of her six (50.0%) three-point attempts in the win.

Parks and Schio play USK Praha for a third quarterfinal game on March 6 to determine which team advances to the EuroLeague semifinal. After that, Parks and Schio are scheduled to resume Italian League play on March 10 against Bologna.

Elizabeth Williams, Brianna Turner and Chennedy Carter did not appear in a game last week.

Chicago Sky players currently overseas are a combined 147-93 (.613 win percentage) with their teams so far this season.
