Week 1: Kenwood Academy High School
The Chicago Sky has selected Kenwood Academy High School as the first weekly winner of its 2018 “High School Team of the Week” program presented by Robert Morris University Illinois. The Broncos receive the honor after being nominated for their accomplishments on the court, in the classroom and in the community.
The Broncos are currently 6-0 on the season in addition to winning the Kenwood Tip-Off Tournament. Off the court, the team has maintained a 3.44 grade point average. On Thanksgiving Day, many of the girls volunteered their time to feed the hungry at local homeless shelters. These ladies ‘bleed red and blue’ and have worked tirelessly in order to achieve both their team goals and personal academic goals.
As a Chicago Sky “High School Basketball Team of the Week” winner, the members of the Kenwood Academy girls’ varsity basketball team are invited to enjoy a Chicago Sky game where they will have the opportunity to watch the world’s best female basketball players. At halftime of the game, the team will be honored at center court.
