Tamera Young played for Montañeras de Morovis in Puerto Rico in the Puerto Rican BSNF league. The team won the Puerto Rican BSNF Championship in 2009.


Update: November 10, 2015

Morovis was unable to outpace Carolina in game one of the BSNF semifinals on November 6. While the score was close at the end of each quarter, Carolina maintained the lead and defeat Morovis 74-69. Young scored 13 points. In a quick turnaround, Morovis suffered a 68-61 defeat to Carolina and on its home court despite a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds by Young. The teams played the third game on Carolina’s home court on November 9, a game in which Morovis was eliminated from the playoffs. Young had a double-double 13 points and 16 rebounds in the team’s 78-61 loss.


Update: November 03, 2015

Morovis survived its first playoff game against Isabela 64-55 with the assistance of lead-scorer Young. Young recorded a double double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Morovis will advance to the semifinals after defeating Isabela in game two 70-60. Young finished with five points, six rebounds and four assists as Morovis swept Isabela in the quarterfinals.


Update: October 28, 2015

Young produced 18 points and nine rebounds in Morovis’ 71-67 loss to Santurce on October 20. Young came close to a double double as she scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the 79-58 win on October 24. Morovis finished the regular season 8-8 and has qualified for postseason play.


Update: October 20, 2015

As the postseason approaches, Morovis has juggled a busy week of games. Morovis went 2-1 last week and is in fourth place in the BSNF league. Young boasted 30 points and eight rebounds in a 78-69 home win over Manati on October 13. On October 15, Morovis fell in a disappointing 75-70 loss to Carolina, a game in which Young recorded 17 points and three rebounds. Morovis came back on top against Ponce with a 77-60 win on October 18. Young nearly recorded a double double with 18 points and eight rebounds.
