Chicago Sky Waive Makayla Epps, Amber Harris

The Chicago Sky have waived guard Makayla Epps and forward Amber Harris, the team announced today.

Epps was drafted by the Sky with the 33rd overall pick of the 2017 WNBA Draft. She played in 17 games with Chicago in the 2017 season, averaging 3.8 minutes, .6 points and .4 rebounds per game.

Harris was re-signed to a free agent contract after the 2017 season. She originally entered the league in the 2011 WNBA Draft as a firstround draft pick (4th overall) of the Minnesota Lynx.

“Epps had a great run with the Sky and was a complete joy to coach,” General Manager and Head Coach Amber Stocks said. “As a veteran, Am[ber] worked hard, played smart, and was a valuable leader to the rookies. Whether draining threes or driving to the basket, both athletes made a positive impact on every practice. I am very proud of Epps and Am[ber] and they should be proud of themselves.”

Stocks and her coaching staff opened training camp on Sunday, April 29. All-Star guard Allie Quigley and forward Cheyenne Parker will rejoin their teammates at camp for the first time on Friday, after returning from their respective competitions overseas. The Sky’s 12-player roster must be finalized by May 17 prior to the 2018 season opener on May 19.

The first chance fans have to see the 2018 Sky team play at Wintrust Arena is May 20 at 6 p.m. when they face the New York Liberty. Tickets are available by visiting sky.wnba.com/tickets or by calling (866) SKY-WNBA.
