Chicago Sky Inks Stefanie Dolson to Multi-Year Contract

The Chicago Sky announced the team has re-signed All-Star center Stefanie Dolson to a multi-year contract.

Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

“Stefanie has established herself as one of the league’s top defenders,” said Sky General Manager and Head Coach Amber Stocks. “Her leadership, competitive character, and intangible traits extend far beyond the court and bring immeasurable value to our team.”

Originally selected No. 6 overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2014 WNBA Draft, Dolson enters her fifth season in the league and second with the Chicago Sky.

In her first season with Chicago in 2017, Dolson was the team’s second-leading scorer and rebounder, averaging career-high marks of 14.5 points per a game and 5.8 rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-5 center and two-time NCAA champion with the University of Connecticut also earned her second All-Star selection during the 2017 season, and garnered WNBA Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

“I am so excited to be back in Chicago and to be able to continue playing in front of these amazing fans,” Dolson said. “We are going to have an awesome team and we’re all so ready to get the season started.”

The Chicago Sky will tip off the 2018 season on the road against the Indiana Fever on Saturday, May 19. An event-filled 2018 home opener will follow on Sunday, May 20 to celebrate the team’s first season at Wintrust Arena.
