In the following game, Bertsch scored eight points in 18 minutes off the bench, connecting on a pair of threes to help Girona to a 13-point win over Ferrol. Girona’s next scheduled game is a Spanish League tilt against Celta Zorka on Dec. 9.

Sika Koné’s Avenida extended its win streak to seven straight this week after picking up a pair of wins against UNI Gyor and IDK Eustrotren. Koné led all players in scoring against UNI Gyor, recording 18 points and eight rebounds in 32 minutes of play. In the following game, she scored eight points and tallied a team-high 12 rebounds.

Avenida sits at a perfect 10-0 in Spanish League play and with its win against IDK Eustrotren, established itself as a contender in Group B of the EuroLeague standings at 4-3 behind just Mersin and USK Praha.

Koné and Avenida next square off against Elizabeth Williams and Marina Mabrey’s Mersin on Dec. 6 in a EuroLeague game that has big implications for both teams.

Williams and Mabrey’s Mersin saw its nine-game win streak came to a close on Nov. 29 against Group B-leading USK Praha, 67-71, but Mersin bounced back with a blowout win over Ormanspor on Dec. 2, 107-74.

In the game against USK Praha, Mabrey scored 19 points with three three-pointers and recorded  four rebounds, three assists and two steals. In the following game, Mabrey played eight minutes with Mersin playing with a big lead for most of the game.

Williams also helped keep Mersin in the game against USK Praha, recording 12 points and nine rebounds in the close loss. Like Mabrey, Williams played sparingly against Ormanspor, but she managed 10 points in her 11 minutes of play.

Alanna Smith recorded a pair of strong games this past week, scoring a game-leading 21 points, along with five rebounds, two steals and two blocks against Gdynia on Nov. 29 and then recording 18 points, two steals and two blocks on Dec. 3 against Nesibe. Despite the strong play, Smith’s Emlak lost both games and extended its losing streak to four.

With the loss to Gdynia, Emlak is now eliminated from EuroCup play with a 2-4 record. Smith is next scheduled to play Williams and Mabrey’s Mersin on Dec. 9 in a Turkish League game.

Courtney Williams continued to fill the box score this week in three games with Shaanxi. On Nov. 28, Williams came close to a triple-double against Jiangsu, recording 10 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to go along with two steals. On Nov. 30, Williams stuffed the stat sheet again with 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. On Dec. 3, Williams and Shaanxi fell to Shanxi in a 20-point loss. The Red Wolves dropped all three of their games this week. They take on Liaoning next on Dec. 6.
