For the final time this season, the Chicago Sky faced the Indiana Fever on Aug. 23 in Wintrust Arena. The Sky fell 113-90, dropping the season series against the Fever 0-3. Chicago are now 15-23 on the season and 10-10 at home.

Despite the loss, the Sky put up a hard fight with 10 lead changes and 10 ties that lasted up to the third quarter before the Fever ultimately pulled away in the fourth quarter on a 30-13 run. 

Chicago saw a collaborative effort with four players scoring in double digits while shooting 50.7% from the field and 94.1% from the line.

Natasha Cloud continued her campaign for Eastern Conference Player of the Week with yet another standout performance, yielding 16 points, seven assists, four rebounds and a steal while shooting 77.8% from the field and sinking both of her free throw attempts. This week, Cloud is averaging 22.6 points, 5.6 assists and 6.6 rebounds on a 63.2% clip from the floor, 75% look from deep and 94.4% effort from the charity stripe across three games.

Holding down both sides of the court was veteran Azurá Stevens with 14 points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block. Rookie Aicha Coulibaly showcased her efficiency with a career-high five made field goals and six rebounds while going 2-for-2 from the line. Coulibaly’s 12 points were just one short of tying her career high.

Center Kamilla Cardoso notched her ninth-straight game with double-digit scoring, posting 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks. The former Gamecock’s perfect 7 for 7 effort from the charity stripe was her ninth time this season making all of her free throw attempts without a miss. 

Courtney Vandersloot facilitated the floor with six points, seven assists, a steal and a block. Veteran Elizabeth Williams shot without a miss, sinking both of her field goals and all four free throw attempts to produce eight points, three rebounds and a block for the Sky.

Leading the charge for the Fever was guard Caitlin Clark who recorded her fifth career game with over 30 points and 10 assists. Clark’s 37 points and 10 assists gave a strong cushion to Indiana’s scoring efforts. Four-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell had a 30-point performance while shooting 52.6% from the field, 66.7% from beyond the arc and 80% from the line. Guard Lexie Hull notched an additional 12 points while Makayla Timpson added 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocks to round out the stat sheet for Indiana.

The Sky hit the road to Connecticut for the final time ever before the Connecticut Sun transition to the Houston Comets. The matchup between Chicago and Connecticut on Tuesday, Aug. 25 will be their fourth and final time meeting this season. The contest tips off at 6 p.m. CT in Mohegan Sun Arena and will be broadcast locally on the U.
