The Chicago Sky fell to the Atlanta Dream 106-81 at State Farm Arena on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Sky are now 15-27 on the season, 3-15 against the Eastern Conference, 5-16 on the road and 37-33 against the Dream all time.

The Sky found a balanced effort from all ends of the court, backed by five different players completing the night in double figures. Rookie Gabriela Jaquez made an effective late-season scoring push and stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, three rebounds and two steals on an efficient 54.5% mark from the field. 

Rookie Aicha Coulibaly and center Kamilla Cardoso each pitched in 11 points. Coulibaly posted an additional 50% clip from the floor and nailed all five of her attempts from the free-throw line, and Cardoso added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks. First-year Morgan Maly saw her first minutes as a member of the Sky, ending the night with 10 points and six rebounds.

Veteran Courtney Vandersloot contributed 10 points, six assists, five rebounds and a pair of free throws to earn her the spot of Chicago’s all-time leading free-throw shooter, surpassing Sylvia Fowles. Elizabeth Williams and Rachel Banham each went for seven points on a 50% mark from the field, with Williams adding four rebounds and a team-high four blocks. Guard Jacy Sheldon tallied nine points and four assists to round out the Sky’s scoring.

The Dream saw five players in double figures in their triple-digit scoring charge. Forward Angel Reese led Atlanta with 23 points and 10 rebounds, marking her 31st double-double this season. Allisha Gray rounded out the night with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists while draining all seven of her free-throw attempts. Rhyne Howard contributed 14 points and four assists, while Jordin Canada recorded an 11-point, 10-assist double-double. Isobel Borlase made her mark off the bench, tallying 18 points and three steals. 

The Sky play their last home game of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 22, against the Toronto Tempo. The game tips off at 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast locally on the U.
