The Chicago Sky fell to the Washington Mystics 110-80 in Wintrust Arena on Thursday, Sept. 17. The Sky are now 15-26 on the season, 3-14 against the Eastern Conference, 10-11 at home and 34-42 against the Mystics all time. 

Sydney Taylor recorded her 23rd double-digit scoring performance of the season, yielding 12 points and four assists. The Sky were led in scoring by Courtney Vandersloot with 14 points and five assists. Center Kamilla Cardoso finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Rookie Gabriela Jaquez scored 10 points off the bench while garnering an additional three rebounds.

Rachel Banham added 10 points off the bench, shooting 50% while rookie Aicha Coulibaly finished the night with nine points, two rebounds and made five of her six attempts from the free-throw line in her 15 minutes of play.

Washington saw five players reach double figures in tonight’s matchup. Shakira Austin led on both ends of the court with a game-high 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Two-time All-Star Kiki Iriafen recorded her seventh consecutive game with a double-double, notching 18 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Michaela Onyenwere and guard Georgia Amoore paired for 12 points each while Cotie McMahon added another 11 points and four assists to round out the scoring for the Mystics.
