Chicago Sky look to continue their hot streak as they close out their five-game home stretch against the Indiana Fever. As the Sky ride high off their victory versus the Los Angeles Sparks earlier this week, they plan to bring that same intensity as they face the top offense in the league for the second time this season. 

The Saturday, Aug. 8 showdown takes place in the United Center, where Chicago made history just last week with a record-breaking attendance for the highly-anticipated 2026 All-Star game. Additionally, the Sky set their all-time franchise record for attendance in their second matchup in the United Center last year.

In the first matchup of the Midwestern teams earlier this season, the Fever triumphed with a 114-106 overtime win. The game was a competitive one as Skylar Diggins' clutch three-pointer at 0.9 seconds left brought the game to overtime. The Sky’s ability to overcome a 19-point deficit to reach overtime that night showcased the resilience they bring to each contest.

Standout Rookie Sydney Taylor contributed to her All-Rookie campaign that night when she set a then career-high 30 points off the bench as she shot 71.4% from the field and 57.1% from three. Guard Jacy Sheldon also made an impact as she posted 10 points and dished out four assists. Sheldon continues to be a key force on the court following a season-high 15 points, three assists and two blocks on Aug. 5 against the Sparks. 

Indiana is coming off a tough buzzer-beating loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday night. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring with 28 points in that game, next to Aliyah Boston's 21 points and 12 rebounds. These two powerhouses formed a dangerous duo against the Sky during their June 11 meeting as Aliyah Boston recorded 34 points while collecting 12 rebounds while Kelsey Mitchell dropped 19 points. 

The United Center is set to witness an ultimate offensive tilt as the Sky come ready to crash the Fever’s strong shot-making lineup. Although the Fever lead in the league with an average 96.5 points per game, led by former All-Rookie Kelsey Mitchell’s average 24.0 points, the Sky’s 71.4% shooting from deep and 61.1% success from the field on Wednesday night shows the dynamic ability the Chicago team brings to each clash. 

When asked about the anticipated Fever matchup, head coach Tyler Marsh said “We look like a different team since [the last faceoff] so we have to come with a defensive mindset and see where it goes. I think we’re ready for the challenge.” 

The game tips off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ABC.
