Game 1 Eastern Conference Semifinals Preview 9/17

The Chicago Sky hosts the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of the 2015 WNBA Playoffs presented by Boost Mobile on Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 pm CDT on ESPN2.

In the regular season, the Sky swept the Fever in their four-game series. Chicago hosted Indiana on opening night of the 2015 season and defeated the Fever 95-72 sparked by Elena Delle Donne’s 31 points and eight rebounds. Three games later, the Sky took over Indiana’s home court and cruised to a 98-72 victory inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Delle Donne led all scorers with 24 points and nine rebounds. In the third game of the series, the duo of Cappie Pondexter and Allie Quigley brought the Sky its third consecutive victory over Indiana, scoring 23 and 17 points, respectively as Chicago finished atop Indiana 83-77. On August 4, the Sky capped off the series with a 106-82 victory at Allstate Arena. Six Chicago players scored in double digits with Delle Donne pacing the team with 19 points and six rebounds. Chicago averaged 95.5 points per game over Indiana, compared to Indiana’s 75.8 points per game in the series.

Last season, Chicago faced Indiana in Eastern Conference Finals. With home court advantage in Game 1, the Fever grabbed the 77-70 win over the Sky. Elena Delle Donne and Allie Quigley each scored 14 points. Chicago defeated Indiana 86-84 in a tight Game 2 at Allstate Arena behind the leadership of Courtney Vandersloot, who delivered 18 points, and 16 points from Allie Quigley. Quigley caught fire in Game 3, scoring 24 points off the bench en route to the Sky’s 75-62 victory to secure the 2014 Eastern Conference Championship.

The Sky will travel to Indiana for Game 2 on Saturday, September 19 inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm CT and can be viewed on NBATV. If necessary, Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will be played on Monday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Allstate Arena. Game 3 will air on NBA TV and locally on The U Too.
