CHICAGO (Sept. 27, 2026) – Chicago Sky guard Sydney Taylor was voted to the Associated Press (AP) All-Rookie Team, announced Sunday morning.

Taylor averaged 13.6 points and 2.0 assists in 37 games (26 starts this season). She initially signed a training camp deal with the Sky before making it to the regular-season roster as an undrafted rookie.

She showcased her three-level scoring ability early, securing a then-career high of 27 points on May 27 against Toronto. Taylor broke out even further with a 30-point night on June 11 against Indiana. She knocked down 10 of 14 field goals and four of her seven three-pointers against the Fever.

Taylor scored her career high of 31 on July 22 against New York, joining Olivia Miles as the only two rookies with multiple 30-point games this season. In two games on Aug. 1 and Aug. 21, wins over the Las Vegas Aces and Golden State Valkyries respectively, Taylor became the first rookie to hit two go-ahead game-winning three-pointers in league history.

All told, Taylor finished as the highest-scoring undrafted rookie in WNBA history. She finished the 2026 season as the third-leading rookie scorer, notching a total of 504 points in 37 games. Her 13.6 points also ranked third in the class, as did her field goals made (176). She led the class in three-pointers made (71).

There was a clear jump in Taylor’s production as she continued to earn more playing time. In 26 games as a starter, Taylor averaged 15.4 points. In games where she played in at least 20 minutes, Taylor averaged 17 points.

Taylor also finished the 2026 season as the Sky’s all-time rookie three-pointers leader as well as finishing second all time among rookie scorers in Sky history, one of just two to reach 500 points.
