Sky vs Sun Preview 9/13

The Chicago Sky will visit the Connecticut Sun for the final game of the regular season on September 13 with a noon tip-off. The Sky will look to take the season series with a win, as the series is tied 2-2.

Chicago is looking to avenge a 72-68 loss against Connecticut on August 30. The Sky was without two starters in Elena Delle Donne (foot) and Cappie Pondexter (concussion), but Courtney Vandersloot carried the Sky’s scoring load with help from Jessica Breland. Chicago upheld a 34-33 advantage at halftime, which extended to 55-47 at the end of the third quarter.

Connecticut battled through a nine-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter with nine points from Kelsey Bone and six from Chelsea Gray to overcome the Sky. Vandersloot finished with 18 points and five assists, while Breland added 12 points and seven rebounds. Bone paced Connecticut with 25 points and eight rebounds, and Gray flirted with a double double of 15 points and nine rebounds.
