Next on the Top Ten Sky Players list is Epiphanny Prince. Prince, who forewent her senior year at Rutgers University to begin a professional basketball career overseas, was the fourth overall pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native played five seasons in Chicago from 2010-2014 before being traded to the New York Liberty prior to the start of the 2015 season.

Prince played in all 34 games of her rookie season, during which she averaged 9.8 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 steals. Her aggressive efforts on defense allowed Prince to rack up 55 steals, which is the most for any Sky player in a rookie season. Prince earned her first WNBA honor when she was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team.

An increased role in Prince’s sophomore season made her numbers rise. She boosted her averages to 13.1 points, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals. Prince’s improved production helped her to start 27 out of 34 games in 2011, a jump from starting only two games in 2010. In that season, Prince made her first WNBA All-Star appearance as a reserve.

She continued to develop her offensive game the following season. Not only did Prince score the most total points in her career, 471, but she also improved her shooting percentage from all areas of the floor: 44.2% from the field, 40.7% from the three-point line and 89.9% from the free throw line. The 2012 season could be noted as Prince’s breakout season, as she averaged 18.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Prince also recorded her career-high 33 points in an overtime victory against Atlanta on June 2, 2012. Twice, she earned the honor of being chosen WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week during the 2012 season. In three consecutive games between June 1 and June 8, Prince scored more than 30 points, which is a Sky record.

Prince made her second WNBA All-Star appearance in 2013, as a starter. She set a season-high 29 points alongside seven assists against Atlanta on September 13. Prince also shot 8-8 from the free throw line, leading the Sky to a home win.

In her final season in Chicago, Prince led the team in scoring 391 total points and with 49 steals. Although she missed the first seven games of the season, Prince managed to propel the Sky to the WNBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. She finished her Sky career with 391 points, 100 assists and 77 rebounds, with shooting percentages of .855 from the free throw line and .375 from the arc.

Prince will always be regarded by Sky fans as an essential piece in Sky history, as she helped the team to back-to-back playoff berths and to the 2014 WNBA Finals in the latter part of her career.
