CHICAGO (February 1, 2024) — The Chicago Sky announced today the team has signed guard Lindsay Allen. Per team policy, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Lindsay will be a great addition to our roster this season,” Chicago Sky General Manager Jeff Pagliocca said. “She has grit, tenacity and a hunger to win — that is the type of player Coach Weatherspoon and I want on our team. We cannot wait to welcome Lindsay to Chicago.”
Allen was originally drafted No. 14 overall in the second round of the 2017 WNBA Draft by New York. She played 28 games with the Liberty, averaging 1.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in her rookie year.
The 5’8” guard then spent two seasons with Las Vegas in 2018 and 2020 after taking the 2019 season off due to injury. During the 2021 season with Indiana, Allen appeared in a career-high 32 games while also averaging 5.4 points and 3.0 assists in 17.8 minutes with the Fever.
Last season, the Notre Dame alum started 20 games for Minnesota and averaged 6.2 points and a career-high 4.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds in 24.1 minutes.
She currently plays overseas with Botasspor Adana in Turkey. In 15 Turkish League games this season, she averages 14.7 points, 8.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds. Allen previously spent time with the Melbourne Boomers from 2018-20 and again from 2021-22. In 2022, she helped lead Melbourne to a WNBL title, earning WNBL Finals MVP and finishing the season on the All-WNBL Second Team.
Allen also spent time with Russian clubs Dynamo Moscow in 2017-18 and Nika Syktyvkar in 2020-21.
She played at Notre Dame from 2013-17, averaging 8.9 points and 5.6 assists across 149 career collegiate appearances. Allen ended her career at Notre Dame as the school’s all-time assist leader (841) and with the record for most career and consecutive starts (149) in school history.
Among various other accolades and honors, Allen was a three-time Nancy Lieberman Award Finalist (2015-17), ACC Tournament MVP (2017), All-ACC First Team member (2016-17) and AP All-American Third Team member (2017).
