Marina Mabrey and Elizabeth Williams helped Mersin pick up a pair of wins last week. Mersin defeated Zaragoza in the third and final EuroLeague quarterfinal matchup between the two teams, winning 86-63 on March 6. Mabrey neared a triple-double in the win, scoring 16 points, eight rebounds and a game-high 14 assists.

Mersin followed up that win with a victory over Ormanspor in a Turkish League matchup. Mabrey scored a game-leading 31 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. Her 31-point outing was her third game this overseas season scoring 30 or more points.

In the win over Ormanspor, Williams recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks.

Because Mersin defeated Zaragoza in the EuroLeague quarterfinal, the club advanced to the semifinal. Mersin is set to take on Fenerbahce in the semifinal, with the first game between the two teams slated for April 12.

Michaela Onyenwere and Ormanspor fell to Mersin in their only game last week. Onyenwere recorded seven points, six rebounds and two assists in the loss. Ormanspor is 18-8 and in second in the Turkish League standings.

Dana Evans helped Beşiktaş win both of its games last week, taking down Girona and Botas. Evans and Beşiktaş defeated Girona in the first of two EuroCup semifinal matchups between the teams on March 7, winning 81-60. Evans recorded 27 points, six assists and three steals in the win, all of which were game highs. In the following game, a Turkish League game against Botas, Evans scored a team-high 23 points.

Beşiktaş and Evans are next scheduled to play the second of two EuroCup semifinal games against Girona on March 14. If Beşiktaş defeats Girona, they will advance to the final.

Lindsay Allen, Taya Reimer and Botas fell to Beşiktaş in the club’s only game last week. Allen led all players in scoring, recording 24 points, along with nine rebounds and four assists. Reimer recorded seven points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Botas is 12-14 and eighth in the Turkish League standings. The club is 1.0 games ahead of ninth-ranked Kayseri and is 2.0 games behind seventh-ranked Nesibe.

Sika Koné and Avenida defeated Girona, 66-62, on March 10, improving to 20-4 and first place in the Spanish League standings. Koné recorded three points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of play.

Chennedy Carter helped Bursa win its third straight game by scoring a game-high 35 points, to go along with six rebounds, four assists and two steals. She made 55.0% (11 of 20) of her shots en route to her highest point total while playing in Turkey. In three appearances with Bursa, Carter is averaging 25.0 points and 8.0 rebounds.

Bursa is 10-16 in the Turkish League standings, 2.0 games out of eighth place.

Brianna Turner’s season with Adelaide in Australia concluded. She finished the season averaging 8.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.1 blocks and 2.2 steals in 21 games played. Turner finished the year with seven double-doubles, including a 14-point, 23-rebound performance on Nov. 11 and a 20-point, 13-rebound showing in her final game on Feb. 24.

Chicago Sky players currently overseas are a combined 155-96 (.618 win percentage) with their teams so far this season.
