2024 SEASON OVERVIEW: Angel Reese had a historic rookie season after being selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She had the best rebounding season by any player in league history at the time of her final 2024 game, averaging a league-record 13.1 boards per game and being the fastest player to reach 400 rebounds in WNBA history.

In all, Reese averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She finished atop the all-time offensive rebounding list with 172 and the consecutive double-double list with 26.

Reese made her WNBA and Chicago Sky debut on May 15, starting in her first game. She started in every game she played this season. In her debut, she scored 12 points and added eight rebounds.

She recorded the first double-double of her career on May 28 against Seattle, notching 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Reese began her record-breaking double-double streak on June 4 with 13 points and 10 rebounds against New York. She went on to have 15 straight games with a double-double, the all-time record. During that stretch, which lasted from June 4 to July 11, she averaged 15.3 points and 13.2 rebounds. She set her career high in scoring three times during the 15-game streak, including a 20-point game on June 12 against Connecticut, a 25-point showing on June 23 versus Indiana and a 27-point game on July 5 at Seattle.

After the All-Star/Olympic break, Reese became the first player in WNBA history with three consecutive games with 20 or more rebounds. She finished with a double-double in each of those games. That three-game stretch included Reese’s career high for rebounds in a single game, when she notched 22 against Las Vegas on Aug. 25. Her 22 rebounds were the most in a single game by any player in the league in the 2024 season and are tied for the most in a single game in Sky history (Sylvia Fowles, 2013). She averaged 14.3 points, 20.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks from Aug. 18-25.

Reese finished the 2024 season with a trio of impressive performances. She recorded 17 points and 19 rebounds on the road against Minnesota against Sept. 1, becoming the fastest player in league history to reach 400+ rebounds. In a Sept. 6 win over Los Angeles, Reese recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds.
