2024 SEASON OVERVIEW: After being selected to the WNBA’s All-Defensive Second Team last year, Elizabeth Williams returned to the Sky as a starter. She was one of two returners from last season’s team and picked up where she left off from 2023, filling the stat sheet in her nine games played.
She averaged 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks per game in nine starts this season. Across the span of an entire season, her 1.7 steals would have been her career-high average and her 1.7 blocks would be her most in a season since 2019.
In a win over Dallas on May 18, Williams recorded a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double while notching five blocks and five steals. Her five steals tied her career high for steals in a game. She helped the Sky to a win over New York on May 23 by recording nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
She had her second double-double of the year when she tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Los Angeles on May 30. Williams also notched four steals and four blocks in that game, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record multiple games with a double-double and four or more steals and four or more blocks in the same season in just nine games.
She suffered a season-ending knee injury after nine games.
On Sept. 19, Williams earned a contract extension through the 2025 season.
