2025 Season in Review

Angel Reese followed up her historic WNBA rookie season with another record-setting campaign in 2025. In her second year, Reese led the WNBA in rebounds per game for the second straight season, averaging 12.6 boards while also contributing 14.7 points, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals. She continued her dominance in the paint, recording 23 double-doubles, tying for third-most in a single season, and becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to notch 46 double-doubles over her first two years.

Reese recorded her first double-double of the year in the season opener on May 17 against the Indiana Fever, notching 12 points and 17 rebounds. By July, she had strung together an 11-game double-double streak from June 22-29, the third-longest in league history. During that run, she was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week (July 9, 2025) for her dominant play on both ends. With that stretch, Reese now ranks No. 1 and No. 3 all-time in consecutive double-doubles (15 in 2024, 11 in 2025), solidifying her status as one of the most consistent performers in the league.

Throughout the season, Reese remained a force on the glass. She notched 20 rebounds in a win over Phoenix on Aug. 28, her highest total of the year. Reese finished the year ranked No. 2 in franchise history for career offensive rebounds (295) and No. 8 in career defensive rebounds (528), while becoming the only player in league history to rank first and second on the single-season rebounds per game list (13.1 in 2024, 12.6 in 2025).

Reese missed 14 games late in the season due to a back injury but remained productive whenever she was on the floor. Even with the setback, she posted multiple 20-point games and continued to record double-doubles at one of the highest rates in the league.

In just two WNBA seasons, Reese has established herself as one of the most consistent rebounders in league history. She now holds the top two single-season marks in franchise history for offensive and total rebounds, and ranks No. 1 and No. 3 in defensive rebounds. A two-time All-Star and back-to-back rebounding leader, Reese’s production makes her one of the premier forwards in the WNBA.
