Chicago Sky Signs Isabelle Harrison

CHICAGO (February 5, 2023) — The Chicago Sky announced today the team has signed forward Isabelle Harrison. Per team policy, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Isabelle is a fantastic, talented player that will add tremendous toughness and strength to our front court this upcoming season,” Chicago Sky General Manager and Head Coach James Wade said. “She is one of the most versatile posts in the league and can play both ends of the floor. We cannot wait to welcome Isabelle to Chicago.”

Harrison, a 6’3” forward, was selected No. 12 overall in the 2015 WNBA Draft by Phoenix and spent one year with the Mercury before heading to San Antonio in 2017, where she started in 33 of 34 games. She then spent four years with Dallas from 2019-22, averaging 9.0 points, 5.2 rebounds in 22.1 minutes with the Wings. Harrison comes to Chicago entering her sixth WNBA season.

This past season in 2022, Harrison averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 35 games. In 2021, she became the third player in WNBA history to record over 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals, tying her career high that game with 23 points. Harrison also finished seventh in the league in shooting percentage at 45.6%. She was awarded the WNBA Cares Community Assist Award in May 2022 and named AP Comeback Player of the Year in 2019.

Harrison also played overseas with Passalacqua Ragusa in Italy (2020-21), USK Praha in the Czech Republic (2019-20), Dike Napoli in Italy (2018-19), Hanabank Bucheon in South Korea, (2017-18), and CCC Polkowice in Poland (2016-17).

The former Tennessee Lady Vol also had an outstanding college career from 2011-15. She finished with 31 double-doubles — sixth in program history — and ranked ninth in program history in career blocked shots at the time of her graduation in 2015. She was named All-SEC First Team (2015), Naismith Trophy Women’s 50 Watch List (2015), Wade Trophy Watch List (2015), Honorable Mention All-American (2014, 2015), John Wooden Midseason Top-20 (2015) and SEC Academic Honor Roll (2011-15), among a plethora of accolades.

The Nashville, Tenn. native is set to participate in the 2023 season with Athletes Unlimited Basketball. She finished the 2022 season third on the leaderboard as a medalist and was selected as the first Athletes Unlimited Basketball Defensive Player of the Year. She ranked third in the league with 33 steals, tied for third with 83 defensive rebounds and was the fifth-leading scorer in the league with 19.3 points over 15 games in 2022.

Harrison is one of the new additions to the Chicago Sky roster for 2023. Earlier this week, the team announced signings with Elizabeth Williams and Courtney Williams.

She will wear jersey number 20 for the Sky.
