Chicago Sky Signs Angel Baker to Training Camp Contract

CHICAGO (April 12, 2023) — The Chicago Sky announced today the team has signed guard Angel Baker to a training camp contract.

Baker started her collegiate career at Wright State, where she led the team in scoring with 18.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 34.8 minutes over the 2020-21 season as a junior. She was named All-League First Team, Horizon League MVP and helped lead the Raiders to their third Horizon League Championship title and reach the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament in 2021.

The Indianapolis, Indiana native then finished out her last two years of eligibility at Ole Miss. In her final season in 2022-23, Baker was named First Team All-SEC, a 2023 Gillon Trophy recipient and WBCA All-American Region finalist. She surpassed 2,000 career points, becoming one of four Rebels to reach the mark. The senior led the Rebels in scoring with 14.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Most recently, Baker helped lead the Rebels (No. 8 seed) to reach their first Sweet 16 berth since 2007 after a monumental win against No. 1 Stanford. Baker and Ole Miss also reached back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time since 2004 and 2005.
