Chicago Sky Sign Victoria Macaulay to Training Camp Contract

CHICAGO – The Chicago Sky announced today the signing of center Victoria Macaulay to a training camp contract.

“Victoria has been putting in a lot of work to improve in Europe and that’s something we’ve noticed,” Sky General Manager and Head Coach James Wade said. “She will add value and competitiveness to training camp that will also serve her well in proving why she should be on our roster.”

Macaulay returns to Chicago after previously competing in four games with the Sky in 2015. After graduating from Temple University in 2013, the 6-foot-4 undrafted rookie played professionally in Italy for Lavezzini Parma. Her overseas performance earned her an invitation to participate in training camp with the Indiana Fever in 2014, appearing in four preseason competitions with the team before being waived. Macaulay attended training camp with the Connecticut Sun in 2016 and rejoined the Fever’s training camp roster ahead of the 2017 season.

Macaulay currently plays in the Turkish Women’s Basketball League for Galatasaray in Istanbul, where she is averaging 12.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. A native of Staten Island, New York, Macaulay has played professionally in France, Poland, Greece, and South Korea, in addition to Turkey and Italy.

Wade and his coaching staff will open training camp on Sunday, May 5. Fans can purchase tickets to see the Chicago Sky play at Wintrust Arena by visiting sky.wnba.com/tickets or by calling (866) SKY-WNBA.
