Chicago Sky Re-Signs Cheyenne Parker to Multi-Year Contract

CHICAGO – The Chicago Sky have re-signed forward Cheyenne Parker to a multi-year contract, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Parker’s return marks her fifth season with the Sky and follows what was one of the best seasons of her career. In 2018, Parker averaged career-highs in points (10), rebounds (5.8), blocks (1), free-throw percentage (71.3%), and minutes played (19.7) per game.

“After having a breakout year in 2018, it was only fitting to have Cheyenne sign to a multi-year deal with us,” Sky General Manager and Head Coach James Wade said. “We want to see her continue to blossom in the Chicago Sky uniform. We know that the sky is truly limit for Cheyenne this season, and we plan on building upon that potential in 2019.”

A 6-foot-4 native of Queens, New York, Parker came to Chicago out of Middle Tennessee State when she was selected by the Sky with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft.

“I’m so excited to be furthering my career with the Sky,” Parker said. “It really has become like a family, and the chemistry I have built with each one of my teammates will continue to grow and flourish. I look forward to getting better with the new head coach and staff. I’ve been through war with my squad and the best is yet to come.”

The Sky open their season on the road against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday, May 25. Chicago will host the defending 2018 WNBA champion Seattle Storm for opening night at Wintrust Arena on Saturday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available now and can be purchased by calling (866) SKY-WNBA or by visiting sky.wnba.com/tickets.
