Sky Sign Davis, McGee-Stafford, and Maley Ahead of Training Camp

The Chicago Sky have signed forward Kaela Davis, the team announced today. Additionally, the Sky signed center Imani McGee-Stafford and guard Anneli Maley to training camp contracts, bringing Chicago’s 2022 training camp roster to a total of 15 players.

Davis, 6’2”, originally entered the league in 2017 when she was selected by the Dallas Wings with the tenth overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft. The 27-year-old spent three seasons (2017-19) with Dallas, where she averaged 6.0 points in 19.2 minutes in across 33 games in her most recent season with the team (2019). In 2020, Davis was picked up by Atlanta, appearing in two games across the season with the Dream at IMG Academy in Florida.

McGee-Stafford, 27, returns to Chicago for training camp six years after being drafted by the Sky with the tenth pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. The 6’7” center spent her rookie season with the Sky, averaging 6.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game before being traded to Atlanta in 2017. Most recently, she played in the league with the Dallas Wings for 29 games 2019, contributing 3.4 points and 3.8 rebounds across 29 appearances. She has since played overseas for Western Australia’s Perth in the WNBL.

Chicago’s 2022 training camp will be Maley’s first chance competing for a roster spot in the WNBA. At 23 years old, the 6’2” guard began her basketball career in her native country if Australia. She has competed with the FIBA U16, U17, U18 and U19 national teams, helping lead Australia to the 2014 FIBA Oceania U18 Championship and Russia to the FIBA U19 World Championship. In 2017 was signed by the University of Oregon to play for the Ducks, where she spent two seasons (2017-18). Currently, Maley plays for the Sydney Uni Flames in the Australian Women’s National Basketball League.
