Chicago Sky Acquire Azura Stevens, Trade Katie Lou Samuelson to Dallas Wings

CHICAGO – The Chicago Sky have acquired forward Azura Stevens from the Dallas Wings in exchange for guard/forward Katie Lou Samuelson and a 2021 first-round draft pick.

“We want to thank Katie Lou for her contributions to our team in Chicago, both on and off the court,” said Sky General Manager and Head Coach James Wade. “We believe she will be a great player in this league, and feel that this will give her the opportunity and playing time she deserves.”

Samuelson was drafted by the Sky with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2019 WNBA Draft. Last season, she played in 20 games for Chicago, averaging 2.4 points and 7.6 minutes per game.

Stevens joins Chicago for her third WNBA season, after spending her first two seasons with the Dallas Wings. In 2019, she averaged 4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in nine games.

“We are very excited to welcome Azura to the Sky,” Wade said, “With her size and skill set, she fills a hole that we currently lack and need to reach the next level.”
