Angel Reese Named to 2024 WNBA All-Star Team

CHICAGO (July 2, 2024) — Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese will represent the Sky in the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona, the league announced today. She will represent Team WNBA, who will play Team USA in the All-Star matchup.

Reese, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is the current league leader in total rebounds per game (11.4) and offensive rebounds per game (4.8). She also holds the league record for consecutive double-doubles in a single season, an active streak spanning 10 games.

Reese joins Candice Dupree (2006), Courtney Vandersloot (2011) and Elena Delle Donne (2013) as the only players in Sky history to be named an All-Star in their first season. She is the 15th Sky player to be named an All-Star in franchise history.

As it stands, Reese is the third player in Sky history to average a double-double for a full season, joining Courtney Vandersloot and Sylvia Fowles. Her 18 rebounds on June 20 are the most by a Sky rookie in a single game in franchise history.

The Team WNBA player selection process began with a voting process composed of fans, a national panel of sports broadcasters and writers and current WNBA players that ended on June 29. Fans made up 50 percent of the votes while the media and players accounted for 25 percent each.

After the initial voting period, complete with input from fans, players and media, the top 10 vote-getters will automatically be named to participate in the WNBA All-Star Game. Any top 10 vote-getter who had not already been named to the USA Women’s National Team 5-on-5 roster would automatically be assigned to Team WNBA. You can view the USA Women’s National Team roster here. The remaining spots on Team WNBA were voted-in by the league’s 12 head coaches.

This marks the second time that the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will feature the USA Basketball vs. Team WNBA format (2021).

The league’s 20th All-Star Game tips off at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, July 20 at Footprint Center and will air on ABC. Other events taking place throughout All-Star Weekend can be found here.

The Sky play the Atlanta Dream tonight, Tuesday, July 2, at Gateway Center Arena at 6 p.m. CT on WMEU-TV, Marquee Sports Network App and CBS Sports Network.
