Girls Run the Game

Join the Chicago Sky for Girls Run the Game event, where Girl Scouts have the opportunity to work a variety of game-day positions on Sunday, June 7, at the Wintrust Arena. Jobs are available for all levels of Girl Scouts (arrival times vary based on job selection). Jobs are distributed on a first-come first-served basis so buy your ticket today!

Tickets are $40 and include:

• Ticket to game (Tipoff at 5pm vs. Washington Mystics)

•  All-Inclusive food on the Sky Deck

• Three soda/water beverage tickets

• Sky Patch and Sky Gift

JOB DESCRIPTIONS


Community Corner Attendants

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (3:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Assist in the Sky Community Corner by managing a range of activities.
  • Manage the Design a Sign table and assist children with creating signs and posters.
  • Manage the Sky inflatable pop-a-shot.
  • Must be friendly, enjoy interacting with children, willingness to draw and undertake crafts.
  • Assist with Sky prize wheel.
  • Sky staff member will be present at all times.

DJ Assistant

Seniors and Up
Arrival Time (4:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Girls will need to enjoy music and be familiar with top 40
  • A script will be provided by the Game Operations Manager when it is time to play

Fan Engagement Coordinator

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (3:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Assist Sky staff with engaging fans on concourse and at Sky Fan Services table.
  • Encourage fans to enter promotions.
  • Assist at the Sky membership table.
  • Assist in the Sky social lounge and encourage fans to take photos and post on social media.
  • Other tasks as required by Sky ticket sales staff.

Fan Patrol

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (4:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Assist in coordination and on floor execution of in-game timeouts, contests and promotions.
  • Assist game operations staff with all tasks.
  • During fourth quarter, the fan patrol will toss t-shirts into the stand of cheering fans and again at the end of the game.

Game Program Providers

Daisies and Up
Arrival Time (3:30pm) – Completion Time (5:30pm)
  • Game program providers.
  • Responsible for making sure that fans entering the arena have necessary collateral.
  • Help get the materials organized before the doors open and make sure that all gates have the proper amount for handouts.
  • Must be outgoing and welcoming to the fans.

Game Stat Feeder

Cadettes and Up
Arrival Time (4:15pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Work with our TV announcers and provide statistics and game trends.
  • Watch the game and stat monitor at the scorer’s table and alert announcers of any big statistic worth announcing, such as; points in the paint, fast break points, and points off of turnovers.
  • Must be familiar with basketball and love watching the game more in-depth than the casual viewer.
  • Must be familiar with the Sky players, as well as the visiting team players (a packet of information will be provided prior to the game).

In Game Stat Delivery

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (4:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Work with the stats crew and sales team to provide statistics to specified members and fans who sit courtside.
  • Assist with other tasks as necessary.

Mascot Handler/Assistants

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (3:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Assist in coordination and execution of Sky Guy appearances around arena and on the floor.
  • They will interact with fans before and during the game to rally fan energy, cheering support for the team.
  • Help corral Sky Guy and make sure he arrives on time for certain appearances.

Media Room Assistant

Cadettes and Up
Arrival Time (4:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Positioned in the media room throughout the game to assist members of Sky media staff with game day responsibilities.
  • Assist press that are in media room.
  • Responsible for compiling the box score and stats print outs and producing the final book for members of the media.
  • Other tasks as required by Media Manager.
  • Must be detail-oriented and comfortable using a copier.

PA Announcer

Seniors and Up
Arrival Time (3:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • You will need a loud voice as you assist the Sky’s PA announcer Ray Clay with updates and messages.
  • A script will be provided and prompts will be provided by the Game Operations Manager when it is time to speak.

Social Media Correspondent

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (4:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Assist with keeping our fans on social media up to date during the game.
  • Assist with producing content and scores for the duration of the game.
  • Must be well versed in social media and be knowledgeable about the Chicago Sky players.

Sponsorship Activation

Cadettes and Up
Arrival Time (3:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Take pictures of in-arena signage and on court promotions for sponsorship recap files.
  • Assist in the execution of sponsored on-court promotions by providing fans with necessary t-shirts and prizes.
  • Help set up court area as needed for sponsor activation.
  • Greet sponsors in suites and the VIP club to ensure they are having a great time at the game.

Team Assistant

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (2:30pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • Responsible for supporting the athletes of both teams during warm-ups, halftime and around the bench area.
  • Work under the direction of equipment manager.
  • Set up towels on team bench areas.
  • Assist with rebounding for both teams whenever they are on the floor.
  • Ensure all balls are returned to the ball rack when not in use.
  • Collect balls at end of halftime and return to training room area.
  • Collect all towels from team bench areas and place in laundry bag at conclusion of game.
  • Must be familiar with basketball and quick and steady on your feet.

Team Photographer

Juniors and Up
Arrival Time (4:00pm) – Completion Time (6:00pm)
  • You will act as additional photographers for the game.
  • Capture images of action, fans, concourse activity, entertainment.
  • You will have courtside access throughout the game.
  • MUST bring your own digital camera.
  • Provide photos to Sky for possible inclusion on social media or website.

Team Night Out Greeters

Cadettes
Arrival Time (3:00pm) – Completion Time (3:30pm)
  • Greet guests and check that they have the correct tickets or passes to allow for early entry.
  • Distribute Team Night Out giveaways for all groups.
  • Assist with Sky staff with courtside photos for all groups.
  • Assist with moving groups back to their designated seats.
