    Fowles carries Galatasaray

    Sylvia Fowles exploded for a game-high 26 points as Galatasaray defeated ZVVZ USK Prague 81-69 in Istanbul.

    The win moved Galatasaray up to 4-6 on the season and locked them into the 16th and final Euroleague post season spot.

    Fowles made 11-of-15 field goal attempts, grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots in the win.

    Galatasaray Downed by Halcon Avenida

    In their first game back from Holiday Break Galatasaray fell to Halcon Avenida 81-64 on their home floor in Instanbul.

    Sylvia Fowles recorded a convincing double-double with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. She made both of her free throw attempts, but made 5-of-13 field goal attempts. Fowles also blocked a pair of shots. Galatasaray is now 3-6 to head into the final leg of Euroleague play. They have 12 points and are in for fourth place, behind Spartak (13 pts) and ZVVZ USK Prague (14 pts).

    Galatasaray will play its final regular season Euroleague game at home on Jan. 19 against ZVVZ Prague.

    Fowles, Galatasaray Upended by VICI Aistes

    Sylvia Fowles scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds as Galatasaray were defeated 91-86 by VICI Aistes at Kaunas, Lithuania Wednesday in Euroleague action.

    Fowles shot 6-of-9 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line.

    Galatasaray is now 3-5 and rests in fourth place in Euroleague Group C. This was the team's final game before the holiday break. Galatasaray resumes Euroleague play on January 12 against Halcon Avenida.

    Fowles, Galatasaray Take Round 2 from Spartak

    In an ongoing battle that could very well decide who advances from Group C of Euroleague, Sylvia Fowles carried Galatasaray to an 85-83 home victory of Pokey Chatman, Epiphanny Prince and Spartak to even up the season series.

    Sylvia Fowles scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, both team-highs. Fowles made 7-of-11 attempts from the field and shot 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Her 12 rebounds were split evenly between the offensive and defensive end.

    Prince shot 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc and finished with 17 points. Spartak is currenlty 4-2 and in a tie for third place.

    The win puts Galatasaray, currently in last place, at 2-4 and in striking distance of advancing.

    Thorn, Tarbes Edge Fowles, Galatasaray

    Erin Thorn chipped in nine points and five rebounds as Tarbes edged Galatasaray, 68-57 today in Euroleague action in Tarbes, France.

    Fowles led Galatasaray with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She shot 8-of-18 from the field and made one of her team's 3 free throws.

    Thorn shot 4-of-10 from the field including 3-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc.

    Galatasaray Handled by ZVVZ Prague

    Despite a team-high 23 points and nine rebounds from Sylvia Fowles, Galatasaray fell to ZVVZ Prague 84-56 last week in Prague, Czech Republic.

    Fowles shot 9-of-14 from the field and 5-of-8 from the free throw line. She also blocked two shots.

    Fowles, Galatasaray fall to Halcon Avenida

    Sylvia Fowles scored a team-high 15 points but it wasn't enough as Galatasaray fell to the undefeated Halcon Avenida 86-59 in Euroleague action in Spain.

    Fowles chipped in nine rebounds and blocked a shot for Galatasaray which fell to 2-2. Halcon Avenida is now 4-0.

    Fowles leads Galatasaray past VICI Aistes

    Sylvia Fowles played her best game of the young Euroleague season today and helped Galatasaray to an 82-58 win over VICI Aistes at Istanbul, Turkey.

    Fowles recorded her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds, both were game-highs.

    Galatasaray started the game on a 10-0 run capped off by a 3-point play by Fowles with 6:22 left in the quarter. Two minutes later Fowles sunk a pair of free throws to balloon the lead to 16-1.

    VICI was able to pull within five points midway through the second quarter, before Fowles came up with a blocked shot and a pair of rebounds that led to Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx) 3-pointer, sparking a 14-0 run that Fowles capped with a layup.

    Galatasaray is now 2-1 and is guaranteed a share of 1st place in Group C at the end of the day.

    Galatasaray, Fowles fall to Spartak, Prince

    Epiphanny Prince scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds as Spartak defeated Galatasaray, 66-40 today in Euroleague action in Moscow.

    Sylvia Fowles led the Galatasaray attack with 8 points and 10 rebounds.

    Prince shot 5-of-10 from the field including 3-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc.

    Prince's Spartak got out to a hot start, taking a 16-2 lead just 24 seconds into the game, Galatasaray was never able to recover.

    The game was Fowles' first trip back to Moscow after helping the Russian side to the 2010 Euroleague Championship.

    Galatasaray MP Wins Euroleague Opener

    Sylvia Fowles scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, to lead Galatasaray to an 84-68 win over Tarbes and Erin Thorn to open up Euroleague play.

    Fowles shot 7-of-12 from the field and made half of her free throws going 2-for-4 from the line.

    Galatasaray's next Euroleauge matchup will be November 3 when they take on Epiphanny Prince and Spartak Moscow Region.

    Earlier in the week, Fowles led Galatasaray to a 90-62 win in its TBBL opener over Alanya Belediye at home. Big Syl scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed six rebounds.

    Offseason Preview

    Sylvia Fowles is no stranger to Euroleague play having dominated the league last season playing with Spartak Moscow Region. This year she's changed countires and will spend her first year playing for Galatasaray in Istanbul, Turkey.

    Galatasaray plays in the top division of the Turkish Basketball League and will also compete in Euroleague play with other top teams across the continent including Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (France) where Sky teammate Erin Thorn plays and Spartak Moscow Region (Russia), her old team and Sky teammate Epiphanny Prince's current team.

    Fowles will be one of several Americans on Galatasaray this season. She will be joined by Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx) and Tamika Catchings (Indiana Fever) among others.
