Sky Look for Sweep

The Mystics come to town in the fourth and final matchup with the Sky for 2011. While Chicago has won all three games this season over Washington and the last five against them overall, the most recent meeting was no walk in the park.

On Saturday night at the Verizon Center, the Sky pulled off one its most exciting victories of the season 71-70 in a game that featured 18 lead changes and had the Sky down by four with 52 seconds left in the game.

Following two missed free throws by Matee Ajavon, Epiphanny Prince made two free throws with 0.7 seconds remaining after being fouled on a desperation three point shot. She intentionally missed the third attempt which allowed time to run out.

Sylvia Fowles had another big night leading the Sky with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Catherine Kraayeveld, who has had amazing success on the Verizon Center hoops, added 14 points, which included 4 three pointers, and Prince finished with 12 points and 4 assists. Tamera Young was again aggressive and tallied 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a career high 7 steals.

Ajavon, who scored the Mystics' final 7 points before missing the big free throws, finished with 23. Crystal Langhorne added 18 for Washington. Nicky Anosike scored only two points but grabbed 9 rebounds and secured a personal best 8 steals.

With the last seed in the Eastern Conference up for grabs, every win is crucial for the Sky, particularly at home. The Sky will head into this game Sky with the aim of sweeping the series with the Mystics.
