Girl Scouts Night 2010

We are thrilled to announce that Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is expanding its exciting partnership with the Chicago Sky to include even more opportunities than last year when more than 1,000 Girl Scouts and their families attended our first Girls Scouts Night at the Chicago Sky.

On August 14, the Girl Scouts will run the show! When the Sky hosts the Atlanta Dream, Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to be assigned a responsibility to help operate the Sky game. Girl Scouts will take tickets, serve as ball girls, photograph the team and even write news stories for the Sky Web site.

The Sky is also offering special discounted ticket prices for every game throughout the 2010 Sky regular season to all Girl Scouts. For every ticket the Girl Scouts purchase, the Sky will donate $5 back to the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. June 5 served as a capstone event which celebrated the Girl Scouts Forever Green Community Action plan. The Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana and the Sky hosted a Forever Green Festival prior to the Sky taking on the Tulsa Shock. Girl Scouts and their friends and families were invited to take part in the festival, that began at 3:30pm outside Allstate Arena, and participate in fun activities throughout the game. At the festival there were opportunities to drop off batteries and cell phones for recycling. There was also a chance to view a showcase of the Girl Scouts Forever Green Community Action Projects, journey World related activity booths, displays from environmental experts and a Take Action training session for leaders, girls and parents. Registration for the event was $20 per person which included participation in the Forever Green Festival, a commemorative patch and visor, complimentary food and drink, music, games and activities and admission to the Sky game. The Chicago Sky donated $5 of every registration fee back to the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
