Perkins Update From Israel

Shalom from Israel Sky fans. Hope this reaches everyone in good health and happiness.

Well I'm sure all of you have heard that my time in Poland came to an end after one month. Wow, I didn't last long did I? But I had some good times in Poland. Although I wasn't there long, I did learn how to drive a stick shift. Talk about an awesome experience, it took me moving to Poland to learn!! I must admit it took about three days for me to get it down pat, but once I got it, I was a pro. At the beginning, I would get so frustrated especially at the stop lights. One time I stalled five times in a row and thats no exaggeration!! I was so embarrassed I wanted to just get out and start walking. But Sky fans, I didn't give up and now I'm like Danica Patrick (not really but close).

One more story...I thought this was hilarious. SoI parted from Poland the day after the election. I was walking down the aisle of the plane to my seat and a Polish woman tapped me on the shoulder and she said "congratulations." I said "excuse me?" She was like congratulations. Then I said "Oh, Obama." She nodded with a big smile on her face. I was excited about Obama being the President elect but how did she know I voted for him? I will never know, maybe she just assumed because I was American that I voted for him. Anyway, it seems that even non-Americans are excited about Obama. Its Obama mania all over the world!

Upon my arrival to the states I thought my mom was going to have a feast for me, you know, some collard greens and macaroni and cheese since those are my favorite foods and I am her baby girl. But that didn't happen guysSorry mom, I don't mean to put you on blast, but she didn't cook for me one time. I actually had to cook!!! Trust me that doesn't happen too often but I didn't mind at all. Ill be the first one to admit that I need the practice.

I was at home for about a month and was so excited to spend Thanksgiving at home. It had been a while since the last time I was able to be home for the turkey holiday so I enjoyed every minute of it. I got plenty of rest and recovery. I mostly spent quality time with my family until my agent called and said she had something for me in Israel, my home away from home. I left the day after Thanksgiving and arrived on Saturday. It was a quick turnaround because we had a game on Monday. Needless to say I was a little rusty after that time off but I'm getting my groove back now. I have two teammates from the WNBA, Ebony Hoffman from the Indiana Fever and Erin Phillips from Connecticut Son. As you know, they are extraordinary players. It seems like we have what it takes to win it all.

I almost forget, Aalirah would be highly upset with me if I didnt mention my beautiful daughter in my blog. She has reunited with some of her Israeli friends; it was so cute it almost brought a tear to my eye. I enrolled her in the school that she went to last year so she could be in a familiar environment and know some of the kids that were there, its only fair. When we opened the door, there were 20 kids looking at Lirah and calling her name!!! She was a little overwhelmed and just put her head down; it took 10 minutes for her to walk in the classroom. One of her friends from last year (Amit) came to the door, held her hand and escorted her in the room. Now come on fans, thats just too sweet.

Since she is going to an Israeli school, I have to do some home schooling when she gets home. So I have to be mommy/teacher. Aalirah is so encouraging; she tells me I'm the best mommy teacher ever! Thats my baby!!! In all seriousness fans, my daughter is my world, and I have the unique opportunity to do what I love and have her with me, what more could I ask for? Oh yea, how about some collard greens and macaroni and cheese mom?!?! Just giving ya a hard time.

Well sky fans its been fun catching up. Happy Holidays and God bless.

P.S. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures to send. But I will have some for you next time.
