The Chicago Sky selected Carolyn Swords from Boston College with the 15th pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft.

Swords, a 6-6 center, leaves Boston College with school records for the most blocks (178), double-doubles (46) and rebounds (1,159) as well as most games started (133) and played (133). At the conclusion of her senior season in 2010-2011, Swords also had the second highest career point total in Boston College history (2,029).

She led the nation in field goal percentage during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. During her freshman year in 2007-2008, Swords was third in the country in field goal percentage. Her 67.7 career field goal percentage is also a Boston College school record.

Swords was named ACC Rookie of the Week, ACC Player of the Week, and All Jesuit Player of the Week. She was also named to the All ACC First Team, and All Jesuit Team, ECAC First-Team over her four-year career at BC.

In her college career, Swords averaged 17.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.

Swords, from Sudbury, Massachusetts, graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury High School where she was named the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year during the 2006-2007 season.
