The Chicago Sky have signed Ameryst Alston to a training camp contract, the team announced. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Entering her third WNBA season, Alston joins the Sky after appearing in three games for the New York Liberty in the past two years.
The 5-foot-9 guard out of Ohio State University was selected by the Liberty in the second round of the 2016 WNBA Draft with the 24th overall selection.
Alston was a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten selection in her time as a Buckeye. She was the 11th leading scorer in the nation with 18.3 points per game in her senior season.
The Sky will open preseason play at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 against the Atlanta Dream at their new home court of Wintrust Arena. The regular season begins on the road against the Indiana Fever on Saturday, May 19, before hosting the team’s home opener at Wintrust on Sunday, May 20.
