Playing the second of four games in eight days, the Chicago Sky will hit the road as they go up against the 6-5 Washington Mystics Tuesday at Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game can been seen on WCIU and WNBA League Pass.
BLOCKBUSTER TRADE
This matchup will showcase the talents of Kahleah Copper and the 2017 No. 2 overall pick Alaina Coates, who were all acquired by the Sky in a blockbuster trade for 6-foot-5-inch forward Elena Delle Donne in January 2017.
In her first season with the Sky, Copper averaged seven points per game against her former team while Dolson averaged just over 10 points per game in the three matchups.
AGAINST THE MYSTICS
This is the first of three 2018 matchups between the Sky and Mystics. These two Eastern Conference teams have faced off 11 times in the past three seasons with the Sky emerging as victors seven times.
Look for guard Allie Quigley, who is averaging 15.5 points per game played, to come out hot. Last season she averaged 16 points per game against the Washington Mystics. This year she is 12th in the league in three-point percentage, shooting 39.5 percent.
COMING IN HOT
Jamierra Faulkner was red-hot on Sunday against the Los Angeles Sparks. She posted 19 points, two assists, and one steal. Thirteen of her 19 points were scored in the fourth quarter.
“The plan was to get to the rim from the beginning. So I guess I just stuck with the plan and it worked out,” said Faulkner.
Cheyenne Parker has been having the best season of her young career. Parker had nine points and 10 rebounds Sunday night against the Sparks leaving her one point shy of her fourth double-double for the season. Parker currently sits fifth in the league in rebounds averaging eight per game. She also sits atop the WNBA leaderboard, ranked eighth, in the blocks category averaging 1.2 per game.
Rookie Gabby William is tied for first with Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike averaging 1.7 steals per game.
