Chicago Sky Unveil 2024 Theme Nights and Promotional Giveaways

CHICAGO (May 20, 2024) — The Chicago Sky announced today the theme nights and promotional giveaways for 13 home games for this upcoming 2024 season. In addition to watching the Sky at Wintrust Arena, fans will have many exciting opportunities to receive Chicago Sky prizes and giveaways, participate in fan contests and attend special theme games. The Sky will also invite several new DJs to join DJ Malik Shabazz at Wintrust Arena this summer, including DJ Tat Taylor, DJ Squeeze, DJ Boy Wonder, and DJ Nosike.

 

SUMMERTIME CHI — Presented by University of Chicago Medicine: To tip off the 2024 season, the Sky will host their season home opener against the Connecticut Sun with a “Summertime Chi” theme presented by the University of Chicago Medicine on Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m. CST at Wintrust Arena. Fans in attendance will take home a Chicago Sky 2024 Nike Rebel Edition jersey-shaped rally towel.

 

HALFTIME PERFORMER — LUPE FIASCO: Chicago-born, Grammy award-winning hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco will be the halftime performer for Saturday’s game. Over the span of his illustrious career, he has been nominated for twelve Grammys, thirteen BET Hip Hop Awards, and four NAACP Image Awards. He became famous in 2006 with the success of his debut album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor. In 2011, his song “Show Goes On” on the album Lasers charted at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

 

JUNETEENTH Presented by Crown Royal: Chicago will host Indiana on Sunday, June 23 at 3 p.m. CST, where fans will receive a specially designed Juneteenth T-shirt to celebrate freedom for Black Americans and celebrate Black History in America. The FieldCrest School of Performing Arts, a youth performing arts center located in Chicago’s south suburbs, will be performing at halftime.

 

PRIDE NIGHT — Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois: On Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. against the Las Vegas Aces, fans in attendance will receive a bucket hat celebrating LGBTQ+ inclusion and allyship. Pride-related fan engagement activities will also take place on the Concourse.

 

GAMING — Presented by Xfinity: To close out the month of June, Chicago will host the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, June 20 at 2 p.m. Fans have an opportunity to receive a Sky Gamer’s Beanie. With an emphasis on expanding gaming opportunities for women and girls, Gaming Night will include a Stem education workshop, concourse gaming activation, and Microsoft XBox giveaways.

 

SPORTS MATTER — Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods: Against the New York Liberty on Saturday, July 13 at 12 p.m. CT, Chicago will celebrate the Chicagoland youth in sports at our Sports Matter Night! Fans in attendance will receive a Sky-branded DICK’s Sporting Goods shirt.

 

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS NIGHT Presented by Mesirow: The Sky will take on the Phoenix Mercury on August 15 at 7:00 p.m. CT with a Mental Health Awareness Night that will showcase the “NET,” a network of mental health support in sport. A limited number of Sky affirmation bracelets and T-Shirts, along with mental health resources, will be shared with fans. The Sky will be partnering with creative agency BarkleyOKRP to bring programming to life, including a pregame panel discussion.

 

HEALTH AND WELLNESS — Presented by University of Chicago Medicine: The Sky will host their Health & Wellness Month during August, with a Health and Wellness Night on Sunday, August 25 at 11 a.m. CST against Las Vegas. A Sky branded water bottle will be offered to a limited number of fans to help promote healthy living.

 

URBAN HEALTH INITATIVE NIGHT — Presented by University of Chicago Medicine: Sky fans are invited to attend Urban Health Initiative Night (UHI) on Wednesday, August 28 to learn more about University of Chicago Medicine’s UHI, which administers population health and community benefit programs to improve health and quality care access on Chicago’s South Side. A limited number of fans will receive a UHI T-Shirt at the game upon entry.

 

CELEBRATE WOMEN AND GIRLS NIGHT: On August 30 at 6:30 p.m. CT against Indiana, a celebration of women and girls will feature a panel discussion, fan engagement activations, and belt bags and shirts in a soon to be announced “You Can Be Anything” activation.

SNEAKERHEAD NIGHT: For the first time ever, the Sky will debut their newest theme night: Sneakerhead Night on Friday, September 6 against the Sparks at 8:30 p.m. CT. Fans will receive Sky branded socks, and participate in concourse activations including custom shoe designs led by influential Sneakerheads. An auction featuring signed players’ shoes will benefit Sky Cares and local non-profits.

 

MARVEL Super Hero™ NIGHT Presented by Magellan: For the second year in a row, the Sky will host their Marvel Super Hero™ Night, in collaboration with Marvel. A Diamond DeShields bobblehead (first 2,500 fans) will honor Diamond’s inspiring comeback story and return home to the Sky. A custom Marvel Ironheart Sky team poster will be given to fans at the game on Sunday, September 8 against Dallas at 5 p.m. CT.

 

HOOPS FOR TROOPS NIGHT — Presented by Magellan: Chicago will host Washington on Wednesday, September 11 at 7 p.m. CT to show support and gratitude for all our active and veteran military members. Those in attendance will receive Chicago Sky-influenced military patches to honor the military.

 

HISPANIC AND LATINX HERITAGE NIGHT / FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT — Presented by Wintrust: To round out the regular season at home, the Sky will host Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Night, in conjunction with Fan Appreciation Night on Sunday, September 15 against Phoenix at 5 p.m. CT. Fans will receive an artist designed T-shirt and a team poster, and celebrate with exciting entertainment, fan engagement activities, and post-game festivities.
