Chicago Sky Cares Foundation Presented by Magellan Hosts Inaugural Fundraising Gala: “Advancing Chicago’s Youth”
CHICAGO—The Chicago Sky Cares Foundation presented by Magellan is hosting its inaugural Sky Cares Foundation: Advancing Chicago’s Youth gala on June 21, 2017 at The Montgomery Club Chicago. The event is hosted by Stephen Bardo and will include a keynote address from Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs.
“We are honored to have this platform to make a difference in the Chicagoland community,” said Adam Fox, Sky CEO and President. “We are committed to giving back and inspiring future generations by providing them with the resources they need to help make their dreams attainable.”
The Chicago Sky Cares Foundation stands on five pillars, one of which is providing resources for Youth & Family Initiatives. The Sky Cares Foundation has helped advance Chicago’s youth by participating in the All-Star Reading Program, rehabilitating schools in underserved communities, implementing a holiday toy drive and providing Sky game experiences, to name a few. The Advancing Chicago’s Youth gala is important because the proceeds collected will help power the following youth programs and initiatives:
- Digital Education Project with Roger C. Sullivan High School – this will be the first Chicago Public School to offer one-to-one mobile tablets and sustainable training for its student body and faculty
- Health & Wellness clinics and programs provided by Chicago Sky Cares Foundation in underserved Chicagoland areas
- Charity Ticket Program – provides memorable experiences for underserved youth at Chicago Sky home games including transportation and donated tickets
“Sky Cares supports ground-breaking youth education programs such as the AARP Experience Corps, City Year, and ComEd Stem Programs,” said James Burda, Sky Vice President of Sponsorship Marketing. “We are fortunate to work with many great partners who share our charitable vision and engage in a broad range of civic responsibilities to support Chicago’s youth including: Magellan Corporation, AARP Illinois, Leo Burnett, Comcast, ComEd, Avison Young, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Model Atelier and M & M Limo.”
