Chicago Sky Announce Schedule for 2019 Regular Season

CHICAGO (December 18, 2018)– The Chicago Sky unveiled today the team’s schedule for the upcoming 2019 WNBA season.

Kicking off a new era under General Manager and Head Coach James Wade, the Sky will travel to Minnesota, where Wade served as an assistant coach for the previous two seasons, to take on his former team for a must-see season opener on Saturday, May 25.

Chicago will return to host the defending 2018 WNBA champion Seattle Storm for an action-packed opening night at Wintrust Arena on Saturday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m.

“There’s no better way to measure ourselves right away than to start off against the Lynx, the 2017 WNBA champions, on the road and then come home and welcome the 2018 WNBA champions,” Wade said. “It will be great basketball for our fans to watch. To say I’m excited for our 2019 season would be an understatement.”

Highlights of the 2019 regular season schedule include:

• Of the 34-game regular season schedule, running from May 25 to Sept. 8, a total of 17 games will be on the team’s home court of Wintrust Arena.
• Eleven of the 17 home games will feature weekend matchups; including four Fridays, one Saturday, and six Sunday dates.
• The Sky will host two matinee games; the first being Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. against the Washington Mystics, and once again when the team takes on the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, July 17 at 11 a.m.

Chicago’s longest homestands of the 2019 season both span three games; first when the Sky hosts Indiana, Connecticut, and Washington at Wintrust from June 21 to June 26, and once again from July 7 to July 12, welcoming Dallas, Minnesota and New York to their state-of-the-art home court. The Sky’s longest road trip for the 2019 campaign is also three games, heading to the West Coast to visit Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas from June 28 to July 2.

The Sky will close out the regular season in Washington against the Mystics for the fourth time of 2019 campaign on Sunday, Sept. 8.
