Clarissa Dos Santos appeared in 31 regular season games and made seven starts in her rookie season with the Chicago Sky. She averaged 5.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-1 center was praised for her persistence in the post area, as she was often at a height disadvantage against her opponents.
“Clarissa is a physical and intelligent player,” said Chicago Sky General Manager and Head Coach Pokey Chatman. “You forget her height because she’s strong. On top of that she can put some points on the board and get some rebounds.”
Although Dos Santos has one year of experience in the United States, she is no rookie internationally. At the age of 19, the Brazil native participated in the 2007 FIBA World Championship with her home country and helped the team to the quarter-finals classification averaging 9.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Additionally, Dos Santos joined the Brazil National Team in the London 2012 Olympic Games. In five games, she averaged 12.6 points and 9.0 rebounds and led all competitors in the rebounding category. Dos Santos will also compete in the Rio 2016 Olympics with the Brazil National Team.
Dos Santos and the Sky open the 2016 season on May 14 against the Connecticut Sun. Tickets start as low as $18. To learn more or to purchase tickets, call 866.SKY.WNBA or visit CHICAGOSKY.NET.
