Young Makes Hospital Visit
As part of the WNBAs Breast Health Awareness Week, Chicago Sky forward Tamera Young will visit cancer patients at Weiss Memorial Hospital on Thursday August 22, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. CT.
Young has been touched by cancer twice as both her grandma and aunt battled the disease.
When Young was just nine years old her grandmother passed away after her battle. As Young got older, she began to understand the severity of cancer when her aunt was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Her aunt had a successful fight, which has inspired her to share the message of cancer awareness.
The Sky will celebrate their Breast Health Awareness game on Friday, August 23 at Allstate Arena when they face the New York Liberty at 7:30 p.m. Tameras aunt will be in attendance to partake in the BHA activities while supporting the Sky on the court.
