Tamera Young and the Sky basketball clinicians hosted a Sky High Hoops Basketball Clinic at Niles West High School on Monday afternoon.
At the clinic, over 60 Niles West girls basketball players, ranging in age from freshman to varsity, participated in a series of drills and received instructional support from Young. The focus for Young throughout her time at the clinic was defense, an aspect of the game where she excels, being widely known around the league as a defensive stopper.
The Sky clinicians directed the athletes through dribbling and defensive drills, followed by 4-on-4 competitions. The afternoon concluded with full-court 5-on-5 scrimmages where the athletes were challenged to incorporate their newly practiced skills into game situations.
Tamera Young was available following the clinic for a Q&A session where participants could also get autographs and take pictures.
