The Sky Looks to Take Second in a Row from Sun

Facing each other for the second time this season, the Sky takes on Connecticut this Sunday, June 19 at 12 p.m. Fans can tune in to WNBA Live Access on www.chicagosky.net to catch all of the action as the Sun are looking for revenge after falling short 78-75 in the final seconds of last Fridays game.

The last time out, in Chicagos home opener, the Sky never trailed, but the Sun climbed back eliminating a 13-point deficit, tying the game with 44 seconds left on the clock on an Ashja Jones jump shot.

Sylvia Fowles saved the game scoring 11 of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter, including a clutch baby hook shot with 28 seconds left on the clock, breaking the tie.

With a rivalry that dates back to 2007 NCAA tournament when Sylvia Fowles LSU squad knocked Charles UConn team out of the big dance, the two celebrated centers have had their battles. During last seasons matchups between the Sky and Sun, Fowles and Charles met four times recorded similar statistics. Against the Sun in 2010, Fowles averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds, while Charles averaged 12.3 points and 9.8 rebounds against the Sky.

This season the story has been a little different so far Charles finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds, and was unable to contain Fowles who finished with a strong 23 points and 13 rebounds.

If Fowles continues to dominate the matchup, the Sky should find continued success.
