Look back at 2010: Epiphanny Prince

If Sky fans need one reason to be excited for the 2011 season, it�s the play of 2010 WNBA All-Rookie selection Epiphanny Prince.

Prince was drafted by the Sky fourth overall in the 2010 draft. Her rare combination of ball handling, scoring and distributing skills were what attracted the Sky and throughout the season, Prince met every expectation.

Among WNBA rookies Prince ranked in the top five in points, assists, rebounds, steals and minutes per game. Her 1.62 steals per game was second on the Sky and sixth in the entire league, and her 1.53 assist/turnover ratio led the Sky.

Prince wasted little time establishing herself a strong perimeter defender, collecting five steals in the Sky�s season opener on May 15 at Connecticut. She gave a glimpse of her offensive prowess in the Sky�s home opener, scoring a career-high 20 points against the Fever. She also showed that she can affect a game without scoring when the Sky routed Tulsa on June 5. Prince scored just four points, but was affective everywhere else on the court recording four steals, five assists and three rebounds.

With five games left, Prince�s playing time and production spiked considerably and she made her first career start on August 20 when the Sky hosted the Sun. In the game Prince shot 8-of-16 from the field, 3-of-7 from 3-point range and dished out six assists in 34 minutes, all of which are career-highs. Prince also grabbed five rebounds and had two steals. Despite the Sky falling 78-71, anyone that saw that game witnessed the dynamic talent that Prince posses.

Prince shined bright on a few occasions in 2010, in 2011 she should help light the way for the Sky.
