High School Girls Team of the Week: Bogan

The Chicago Sky named the William J. Bogan High School Girls Basketball team the High School Girls Team of the Week for the week of Dec. 1 for its excellence on and off the basketball court.

These girls have a handful of distractions that confront them every day but they continue on their path to be the best athletes and team they can be, said Bogan head coach Gary Bell. They are hardworking, driven, determined student-athletes and the majority of them are in the schools academic honors program.

In the 2009-10 season the Bogan Lady Bengals accumulated a 25-9 overall record finishing as runners up in the Chicago Public League. In the Illinois High School Association state tournament, the Bengals made it out of the Lyons (LaGrange) Regional and ended their state tournament run in the Sectionals. Following the season and the school year, every one of the graduating seniors received a scholarship to continue her academic and basketball career in college. Bogan high school is located at 3939 West 79th Street in Chicago, IL 60652.

They will meet and talk to Sky players and coaches before the game and be honored on the Sky court during the game. They will also have the Sky experience brought to one of their home games.
