Family Sports Festival 2011

Family Sports Festival 2011

Families and friends enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon with the Chicago Sky and many other sports organizations at Armour Square Park for the Family Sports Festival hosted by World Sport Chicago. The festival was designed to provide a free day of fitness and entertainment for Chicago children and adults alike. It featured more than 25 stations where different sports could be played. Attendees could determine what sport they enjoyed the most and then get information about existing programs in Chicago. All of the major Chicago professional sport organizations were on hand as the Sky was accompanied by the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, and Fire.

It was a perfect day to be outside and get a taste of the myriad of healthy activities available to Chicagoans, said Erika Swilley, Director of Community Relations. World Sport Chicago did a wonderful job exposing kids to all kinds of sports that many dont ordinarily see.

Fans visited the Skys booth to hang out with Sky Guy; pick up complimentary team posters, wristbands, and pens; test their skills on the Skys inflatable pop-a-shot and sign up for the raffle which featured season tickets for 2012.

The Family Sport Festival was a success. Fun was had by all, and attendees left with more knowledge and resources to build a healthier lifestyle. If you missed it, make sure you attend next fall.
