The WNBA announced Friday that Skys Elena Delle Donne will miss the 2013 WNBA All-Star game presented by Boost Mobile after sustaining a concussion in Wednesdays away game against the Washington Mystics.
Delle Donnes spot for the Eastern Conference will be filled by Atlanta Dream center Erika de Souza.
Delle Donne made WNBA history upon being named the top vote getter in early and final returns of the WNBA All-Star ballot. She leads the league in free throw percentage (93.1) and is ranked fourth in points per game (18.2).
Phoenixs Brittney Griner, who was announced a starter for the Western Conference, will also miss the All-Star game due to a knee injury. Delle Donne and Griner would have been the first rookies in WNBA history to face off as starters at the WNBA All-Star game.
Fans can watch the Boost Mobile All-Star game live on ABC this Saturday (July 27). The game will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
