Sky Partners With Comcast for 2009

CHICAGO, May 13, 2009 � The Sky and Comcast are pleased to announce an exclusive agreement to air 2009 regular season Sky games on Comcast�s CN100. Full game replays and other Sky content will be available exclusively to Comcast Digital Cable customers via On Demand.

Comcast is the new medium where Sky fans can now find up-to-date news on the team all season long with the new additional Comcast On Demand content that will include additional games, team and player special features and game highlights.

The On Demand content will be updated throughout the season with the following Sky games being broadcasted on Comcast CN100, which airs on channel 100 for all Comcast Chicagoland customers with a digital set-top box or a TV with a digital tuner:

  • June 12 vs. Atlanta - 7:30pm
  • July 19 vs. San Antonio - 5:00pm
  • August 5 vs. Indiana - 6:00pm
  • August 14 vs. New York - 6:30pm
  • August 28 vs. New York - 7:30pm

    The Sky also announced its 2009 television broadcast team, with Brent Stover handling play-by-play and Patricia Babcock McGraw providing color commentary. Brent Stover joins the Sky for the first time this season and has been a member of the Big Ten broadcast team since 2007 as a anchor, reporter and play-by-play analyst. Stover has hosted and reported for the St. Louis Cardinals pre/post-game shows and will also host the St. Louis Rams Post-game radio show for the upcoming NFL season. Patricia Babcock McGraw joins the Sky for the first time this season as a color analyst and has been a reporter and columnist for the Daily Herald since 1997, covering the Chicago Sky every season since its inception. During the basketball season, Babcock is a color analyst for women�s basketball on the Big Ten Network.

    The Sky is one of six independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world�s longest-running women�s professional sports league. Chicago finished fifth in the Eastern Division with a 12-22 record in their third season. Sylvia Fowles, Chicago�s rookie center, ranked third in blocks per game and fifth in double-doubles with six. Forward Candice Dupree ranked third in defensive rebounds, fourth in rebounds per game and third in double-doubles with nine. Guard Jia Perkins ranked fourth in the league in steals, fifth in the league in free-throw percentage and seventh in points. The Sky plays at the Chicago�s UIC Pavilion.
