Dear Chicago Sky Family,
Through adversity, we stick together. From the start of training camp in April to the end of our postseason run in October, our primary goal was to win our first WNBA Championship. Our will to achieve that goal never left us, not even when we were faced with injury, not even when we opened the season with four straight losses.
We stuck together. This team never stops fighting. Not even when we were down eight points with less than five minutes in the fourth quarter at Phoenix then went on an 8-0 run to close the gap. Jessica Breland hit the game winner before the buzzer. We never stopped fighting.
Courtney Vandersloot put herself in position to draw a foul off a rebound at the end of regulation against Minnesota and send us into overtime from the free throw line…The rookie Imani Boyette sealed the game with an OT block in the post…We never stopped fighting.
Or in Game 3 of the semifinals with our backs against the wall…We came back from being down 15 points in the first half. When others had written us out, we believed and we prevailed. We never stopped fighting.
Our fight for a WNBA title will not cease. TOGETHER we will reach our primary goal. Thank you for your endless support, for sticking together with this family. You are part of what makes this unit so special.
Yours in Hoops,
