After the month-long Olympic break, the Chicago Sky return to Allstate Arena to take on the Atlanta Dream Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT. The Sky currently stands at sixth place with a record of 11-13. With the last ten games honing in, the team is looking to finish the season strong and clinch a playoff spot.
With three Sky players in the top 20 for three point percentage this season, the Sky need to continue to pull through using their shooting percentage as a weapon. The Sky is also third in field goal percentage (46.1%), second in three-point percentage (38.7%) and third in free throw percentage (82.8%).
The Sky has been 0-2 thus far in the 2016 season against the Dream, but is 11-5 at home against the Dream all-time. During the two teams’ last contest on June 17, the Chicago Sky was defeated in overtime. Cappie Pondexter hit a three-point basket to bring the Sky to a 92-91 lead with 3:56 left in OT. Elena Delle Donne extended the lead with another three-pointer to bring the Sky to a 95-91 lead over the Dream. However, Atlanta went on an 8-0 run in the final three minutes to secure the 101-97 win.
