The Chicago Sky lost a close game to Connecticut 82-75 on Sunday. Next, the team will travel to Minnesota to face the Lynx for the third and final time this season on Tuesday.

Facing the Lynx
The season series between the Sky and Lynx is tied at 1-1. The deciding game will be in Minnesota, where the Sky hasn’t won since 2010.

Chicago took the first game of the series at home 77-63. Allie Quigley, Courtney Vandersloot, and Gabby Williams all scored in double-digits for the Sky in that game. The team shot at 52.9 percent from beyond the arc, and they held Maya Moore to only 16 points. In the second match up, the Lynx came to Chicago firing on all cylinders. Maya Moore led the game with 31 points, and Minnesota had four other players in double-digits.

Minnesota has locked in a playoff spot, sitting at No. 7, but the team looks to gain better positioning with the postseason right around the corner. While Chicago is out of the playoff running, the Sky will be looking to close their season on a high note.

Players to watch

Courtney Vandersloot
Vandersloot’s consistent leadership and floor-vision is a necessary part of Chicago’s gameplan. The No. 10 assist leader in WNBA history has scored in double-digits 15 times this season, and had 10 or more assists in eight games. She still sits at the top of the WNBA with 8.6 assists per game this season, and Vandersloot has had seven double-doubles and a triple-double on the season. She gets her teammates open and involved in the offense, and she’s disruptive on defense averaging 1.3 steals per game.

Allie Quigley
Quigley leads the Sky in scoring with 16.0 points per game and has been an important offensive weapon for the team. In the last matchup against the Lynx, Quigley shot at 57.1 percent from beyond the arc. The All-Star guard has scored in double-digits 23 times, 10 of those being 20-plus. She sits in the No. 6 spot in the WNBA in 3-point percentage at 43.8 percent. Look for Quigley to heat up from behind the 3-point line.

Stefanie Dolson
Dolson shot at 53.8 percent in loss against Connecticut on Sunday. She led the team with 20 points, tying her season-high, and eight rebounds. The center hit two 3-pointers and added two assists. She had a strong presence in the post, and she got to the free throw line three times. Dolson will have to continue to be aggressive down low to help the team come away with a win.
