Leading up to Thanksgiving several Sky players had time off from their overseas teams to catch up with family and friends. With time away from the court, Pokey and the players took time to reflect on what they are most thankful for this holiday season. Check it out below!
Tamera Young
“I am thankful, everyday, not just on Thanksgiving. Every morning waking up to see a beautiful day I am thankful. I am thankful for great health, a loving supportive family, caring friends, and to be living my dream. I’m thankful to live everyday inspiring others and young ones to go after their dreams. I’m thankful that my good days outweigh my bad days. I’m also thankful for my college degree and not having student loans HA 🙂 “
Jessica Breland
“I am thankful for each day I am given. I am thankful for the strength God has given me to overcome many obstacles and adversity. I am blessed that around each Thanksgiving I can add another year to being cancer-free. This Thanksgiving marks 6 years since my last session of chemotherapy. Last but not least, I am thankful for all the people God has placed into my life. I am truly grateful I can say you are my family, my friend, and my support.”
Pokey Chatman
“I am thankful for my family, friends, staff, team, fans and the countless opportunities presented to me on a daily basis to live my dream.”
Cheyenne Parker
“I am thankful for life. I’m thankful to have supportive people in my life that care about me as much as I do them. It means a lot to have people in my corner. I’m also thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given to inspire.”
Cappie Pondexter
“There is so much to be thankful for but I’m truly thankful the Lord died on the cross for my sins. I’m thankful that He has given me a very supportive family and close friends who has been there for me as I pursue my dreams. I’m also thankful that I can live out my dream of playing professional basketball.”
Jacki Gemelos
“I am thankful for my family and our health. Without either of these things I wouldn’t be living my dreams every day I wake up. My family has been there for me every step of the way and has supported my every move. Being healthy to wake up and play the game I love makes my life complete.”
Jamierra Faulkner
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to do what I love for a living and for my family. “
Allie Quigley
“I’m thankful for my health and being able to play basketball for a living. I’m also thankful for my amazing family!!! They love and support me no matter where I am in the world. And, of course, I’m thankful that Justin Bieber is coming to Allstate Arena this April!”
